"SINGING MYSELF A LULLABY" is about a dancer who made his life the subject of his final work. Made possible with funds from the Open Society Institute's Project on Death in America, the documentary explores performance, the nature of truth, and their role in the telling of history. Based on a work for the theatre, it examines the image of the self as one individual prepares for his death from AIDS. While AIDS is not the subject of the documentary, it is a catalyst for the examination of identity as one lives with the dying process.
